     At KNR Studio and Ye Olde Woodshoppe we create items that have that old time feel. Our products may have some blemishes due to the fact that we use reclaimed wood and these minor blemishes add to the look and feel of being crafted years ago. we feel that any imperfections help make the final product more unique than a finely polished item. 

     We scour the Midwest area looking for old wood that is destine for the burn pit or landfill and bring new life back into it. A lot of our hardwood comes from saw mills that cut these pieces off from the tree and are considered to small to sell to their clients whom are looking for larger sized wood. Another source for our wood is old barns and fence line that are being demolished to make way for new buildings or just to clean up the landscape. 

     A lot of the products we produce have numerus cuts, nail holes or other blemishes in them. We try to enhance the beauty of the used wood and keep these marks in the wood to help show of the unique life of the lumber used. These minor marks and blemishes help create character and style to each individual piece that we create. 

     Each piece of wood that we use is individually checked over by Kelly Heger and made sure that it is clear of any hazards such as nails, screws or foreign metal that might potentially harm anyone. We look for the beauty and durability of the wood and try to use as much of the wood as possible. This may require us to cut several smaller pieces and glue them together to create the design and strength that is required for the project that we are building.
